Cumming classical christian Homeschool Hive
EQUIP 2:22“In him you also are being built together into a dwelling place for God by the Spirit” Eph 2:22
our Environment
Your family is coming to a safe environment where God is honored, learning is rich, friendship is sincere, and the individual can be strengthened. You can find out the specific details of what kind of environment we are nurturing by looking at the various agreements written within our Equip Homeschool Hive agreements below. The heart of these agreements is simple: ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind, and ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ (Matthew 22:37-40)
Location: Cumming, GA
our classes
We are leaning in hard after God, and are focused on teaching the children how to hear, love, and respond to the Holy Spirit! We have carefully curated our specific courses based on the current roster of children.
We use Claritas Publishing (which is both classical & Christian) as our “spine” for memory work. You can expect an immersive learning experience with history and science using the Principle Approach (described below) to which we will apply the Structure and Style teaching from Institute for Excellence in Writing (IEW) to record what we are learning, Logic of English (LOE) to learn writing and reading, Devotions and Worship Time, Financial Peace University for kids (FPU), and even public speaking.
Middle school-aged children will add Logic and Latin to their learning rigor. We use Introductory or Intermediary Logic, and either Visual Latin or Henle Latin as the kids show readiness. Their assignments are also scaled to their ability and experience.
The preschoolers look forward to storytime, circle time, crafts, and plenty of playtime, too, and they are included in memory work, science and history in a one-room classroom setting.
The babies are welcome to stay with Mom or Dad, and can be easily in arms. Afterall, what is homeschool without babies?

Renewing The Mind
We are hosting a monthly fellowship and study for Renewing The Mind where we will all potluck dinner, kids will play, and adults can crystallize what their visions are for their own home education.
Technology In the Classroom
We encourage parents to stay OFF tech in the classroom, but ENCOURAGE taking pictures for yearbook. Some kids need to use technology to assist them, and that’s just fine! Let’s get their needs met.
We use technology to lead classes as it enhances a lesson. For example, I use a Vibe Board, iPad with screen casting to a TV, and sometimes appropriate videos or photos to help the kids imbibe leading ideas.
“A new commandment I give to you, That you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another. By this shall all men know that you are my disciples, if you have love one to another” (John 13:34–35)
